Introducing the New Blidget with Slideshows
Widgetbox Blidgets are seen millions of times each month by millions of readers and bloggers.
Today, we are excited to announce the next generation of the Blidget which now has a slideshow view ideal for image-rich blogs and RSS feeds. Watch the new Blidget in action:
1. Enter the Make A Widget flow and click the “Blog / Feed” tab
2. Input your blog or feed URL
3. Click continue and voilà
You’ll notice the same creation and customization flow but with a couple new “Layout” options. “List” is the traditional layout – but you can now choose the “Slideshow” view (examples below). Both formats include options to include images and/or summaries. If you create a Slideshow Blidget and turn the summaries off, you’ll notice that the summary appears on mouse overlay. You will also notice that the slideshow automatically scrolls through each entry but has functionality to pause and go forward / backward.
And after you’ve created your Blidget… it will now get even more attention: we’ve added a prominent Blidget tab to Widgetbox’s header. You can now access the newest, hottest, top rated and most popular blidgets directly from every Widgetbox page.
Below are a couple examples of what can be done with the new Blidget.
