The Blidget Pro is packed with powerful features… and one of the most exciting enhancements is the new “Brick View” layout which gives any blidget a visual, magazine-like layout:

Turning Brick View On

Activating Brick View takes just one click! In the Blidget Creator’s second step (”Customize Blidget Content”), simply toggle the Layout option to “Bricks” mode:

Setting Default Brick Image

In the case that a post(s) in your RSS feed may not have an associated image, you can set a default brick image. Simply enter the url of the image you want to appear. For best results, the image should be square.

When setting your default image, think of an icon you would want repeated within your widget and one that won’t cause confusion with multiple headlines. A best practice is to use your blog or company’s logo. For example, here is a Blidget Pro using the Widgetbox Twitter feed – which does not include images. I’ve set the default image to include the Widgetbox icon:

Brick View Tips & Tricks

- The Brick View looks best for tall and/or narrow widgets; if the widget is too wide, go with the List View with Pictures
- Brick View is intended for RSS feeds with images turned on
- Brick View looks terrific with video feeds – YouTube, Vimeo and Hulu
- If you turn tabs on within your widget, you set different layouts for each tab
