Keeping Track of the Fires through Widgets

The fires that are happening right now in Southern California are devastating.  I can only imagine how those living and working in San Diego County feel right now.  It is amazing to me to think about how the flow of information about this has changed so dramatically over the years - a lot of people are learning about what is happening through Twitter, for example, which has gives those of us who are not there real insight into what is happening on the ground.  Mashable had a great post about this today.

A number of months ago, the LA Fire Department submitted a couple of widgets to us, and I thought I would share them here as another way to stay up to date on what is going on. 

Our thoughts certainly go out to all those struggling with these fires right now.
