Your widgets are king!
Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 4:03PM Today, Erick Schonfeld from Techcrunch posted some numbers from a Comscore report which attempted to measure widget viewers on the web. Eric Eldon at VentureBeat posted something similar.
Because many of our widgets are JavaScript, we aren't accurately represented in the report. Big thanks to Erick and Eric for clarifying this in their posts. We are working with Comscore to fix this because we want to get you the most users for your widgets and accurate reporting by Comscore can help that.
Additionally, we are working with Comscore to be bring more transparency to the report. We were told by Comscore that there is double counting of viewers. While we know it is technically challenging to address this, we believe Comscore can and will do so.
In the meantime, we thought we'd share with you how many people are seeing your widgets month after month. We hope you are as excited about this as we are. You should know that these are widgets you have created and have been served on over 200,000 websites. Your widgets are seen by 25M viewers every month and this is growing like wildfire!
We are proud to deliver those viewers to you every day, one widget at a time.
