Widgetbox in Announcements

I write to introduce myself to the Widgetbox community.  My name is Will Price, and until yesterday I served as a General Partner at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, a proud investor in Widgetbox.  I am thrilled to announce that I have joined Widgetbox as the new CEO.

I first met Widgetbox in the early Spring of 2006, when the founders,Ed Anuff, Giles Goodwin, and Dean Moses, visited Hummer Winblad looking for seed funding. From the very first meeting, I fell in love with the power of the distributed web, the Widgetbox vision, and the team. The growth to date is astounding and a real validation of the founders' vision.  In addition to my appointment, we also announced yesterday record results, with monthly uniques at 30m, 400m monthly widget views, and widgets now running on over 230,000 domains. Wow. A more detailed post on my passion for this space and company can be found on a guest post I authored on Techcrunch.

Thanks to you, the Widgetbox community, the company is an anchor tenant in the web widget market and enjoying tremendous and sustained growth. Going forward, I am eager to work with each of you in building on the success to date.

Finally, I would like to thank Michael Dearing, our interim CEO, for a wonderful run as our leader. Under his stewardship, he helped ensure that we maintained our focus on being true to you, the community, and he drove us to record results.

Thanks for supporting Widgetbox. We’re glad that you are part of the community and I look forward to working with you in the future.
