I’m very proud to announce that Widgetbox now allows developers to get their widgets into all of the top social networks’ OpenSocial application galleries. This includes:

Hi5
Orkut
iGoogle
Netlog
Along with our existing support for the Facebook and Bebo galleries via our app accelerator, this represents a significant point of distribution of your widgets to hundreds of millions of social network users across the planet.
This is a big achievement for Widgetbox. Different social networks implement OpenSocial quite differently — to the extent that Google says OpenSocial is actually “Learn once, write anywhere” rather than the usual promise of “Write once, run anywhere”. Widgetbox has gone to great lengths to work with each network and make all this transparent to the developer. Your apps just work.
No changes are necessary to your widgets. All widgets work without modification in these social networks.
We will continue this seamless, transparent support as both the networks and OpenSocial evolve (currently most networks are on OpenSocial 0.7, about to move to 0.8).

- View your registered widgets at http://www.widgetbox.com/dash/
- Click a widget's name to view its dashboard.
- Click Add to More Galleries and follow the instructions.
