Add Custom Widget Links in Header and Footer

With Widgetbox's Blidget Tool, the header automatically links back to the blog or source of the RSS Feed. It's a simple but powerful feature that helps drive traffic back to the primary page and brand.

The Blidget Pro goes a couple steps further - allowing total customization and branding. Here's how:

First, Choose Your Layout

You can read more about choosing a widget layout (full tutorial here). As it pertains to custom links, it is important to note that:

- The Header & Footer Layout allows for custom links within each
- The Full Background Layout allows for only one custom link (because it is a single image)

Adding Header and Footer Custom Links

In the Header & Footer Layout, you can set the custom links by expanding each component's configuration tool. In the screenshot below, you will notice that the "Header" and "Footer" components have been expanded. Below the "Image/SWF" properties is a box labeled "Link URL".

Entering a URL is optional - but it's a great way to drive traffic back to your site. And with the Header & Footer Layout, you can set different links for each component. Be sure to enter the entire URL (in this case: http://www.techcrunch.com):

Adding Full Background Links

The only difference in the Full Body Layout is that you can only select a single custom URL. This is because the "Full Background" mode uses a single image. Whatever portion of the image is not covered by the widget's "body" will be link to the URL you designate. Simply enter the full URL in the "Link URL" field:
