Blidget Pro Contest: 20 Winning Widgets!

When we launched the Blidget Pro last week, we also announced it to Widgetbox users in our email newsletter. And for those users, we ran a special contest.
The first twenty Blidget Pros that were made would be spotlighted on the Widgetbox Blog with a blurb written by the creator.
So without further ado... these were the first twenty Blidget Pros and their stories. The post is broken into three parts (Part I, Part II, Part III)

I use the widget to let people put my sites latest streams onto theres I have the rss feed hooked up to it so all posts go right to the widget, it's like spreading my rss feed around the web only the widget looks much better , http://www.blog.ppv-streams.com it stays on all my pages.
Bariatric Girl
My Blidget is my blog and YouTube channel. I blog about the positive side of weight loss surgery because I lost exactly half my weight and have kept it off. My surgery was 8 years ago. I use my Blidget when I post on forums so that anyone reading can see at a glance what my blog is about and can easily access my youtube channel as well. My blog is www.bariatricgirl.blogspot.com and my Blidget is at the top right side.

Wilderness Awareness School
The blidget I created with Blidget Pro from Widgetbox was made for our online community portal...so folks could grab it and stay updated with the latest info, educational tidbits, and cool videos coming from Wilderness Awareness School. Right now it lives on our community site at www.WildernessAwarenessVillage.org (or www.wildernessawareness.ning.com). In the coming weeks, it will also live on our home page
I love the tabs option in Pro! Thank you...that's awesome, along with the option to put a banner at the top of the blidget itself. This has made our RSS feeds so easy to create and share. Wahoo!
zMogo Tech News
We created the zMogo Tech News Blidget as a way for our authors and readers to post our recent headlines on their blogs, myspace pages, etc. Additionally, we are hoping to find advertisers that support this format, allowing us to place this Blidget as a means of advertising our recent headlines on related sites.

Cooking Up a Story, strives to build communities around the many important and interconnected issues that involve food and sustainability. We produce three shows about people, food, and sustainable living: Stories consists of documentary shorts about farmers, artisan producers, and others; Food News features interviews with experts on the science, politics, and culture of food; and Cooking Fresh showcases food enthusiasts as they demonstrate how to prepare fresh seasonal dishes.

Cars UK
Cars UK (www.carsuk.net) is a new Car News site, focusing on the UK. Getting on-site SEO right is made easier by using Wordpress, but as we all know traffic and links are crucial. And social media is an increasingly important part of this. Widgets seem the best way forward, giving others an easy way to share our news (which can be updated up to 10 times in a busy day) with a wider audience. And not just in Social Media, but across all web sites.
Petrolheads love car news - any car news. So we aim to bring a wide range of news from a Ford KA to a Bugatti Veyron - as it happens, in a friendly, easy to read, personal style. Add to the mix car reviews, comment and, coming soon, useful tools like car insurance comparisons and car lease comparisons, we aim to make Cars UK the default stop for the petrolhead, at least in the UK.
We purposely made our Blidget simple. We didn't want to 'Shout-Out' our brand at this stage, instead looking to create a Blidget that could fit unobtrusively on any site. We wanted the content, which always has an image in the post, to speak for us rather than our headline brand. Hopefully that tactic will be successful.
Free Ticket Classifieds
First off let me say that the Blidget Pro was extremely easy to setup and customize to meet the needs of http://freeticketclassifieds.com users. The reason I went with Blidget Pro was to further increase the brand awareness of our website. Many users were requesting a widget they can place on their blog to display recent ticket classified ads right on their own blog/website. While we have our own widget at http://freeticketclassifieds.com (left sidebar), we needed an easily transportable widget. Blidget Pro met those needs and allowed us to create a nice and clean widget in just a few minutes.

Dealio.com is a leading Web 2.0 shopping site where you can compare prices on virtually any product, find a online coupon code or printable coupon for almost any store and take advantage of the best daily deals which are generated by our community of deal hunters.
As a Marketing Associate for Dealio.com, I signed up to use WidgetBox because I wanted a better way and more visually enticing way to attract visitors to Dealio.com and the Dealio Blog rather than using simple text (via RSS feed) alone.
So far, the Dealio Blidget has been placed on multiple MySpace, Facebook and various other social network sites. We're also planning a blog post (which will link to yours). Lastly, we've also spread the word to our followers on Twitter.

Creating the Blidget Pro took a very short time. It was easy to create and navigate between the settings. I liked the ability to view all edits in realtime.

We built the (incli)NATION Widget to promote our blog across our network of projects. We love the design flexibility and the ease of use for readers. The new Pro features are fantastic and we'll certainly be creating more of these in the future!
