As you might know, we have a Facebook accelerator that lets you turn your widgets into full Facebook applications with all the trimmings.

We released a bunch of new goodies for it. Here’s the deal:

Flash widgets in profile
Your
#1 feature request was putting Flash widgets in the profile, rather on the
canvas page. Well, here you go.

You can customize the click-to-activate image that Facebook requires on top of all Flash files. You can also include a "click me" overlay to make sure people know what to do.

News Feed mania

So everyone knows by now that using the Facebook News Feed effectively is the most important thing you can do to help your app spread, right?

We added much more interesting default News Feed stories, and gave you a screen to further pimp them out, including adding your own pictures. You can also customize all aspects of your app’s friend invites.

Notifications API

Widgetbox now provides a Javascript and Flash API that you can use inside your widget to:

Send stories to the Facebook News Feed.

Send events to your app’s profile box.

This API can be used in your existing Flash and HTML/Javascript
widgets. It will not break the widget when the widget is used outside
of Facebook.

News Feed API Example

If you have a game widget, you could send a News Feed story after the game is played:

Profile Box Example
You can also post events to your app’s profile, like these Magic 8 Ball answers:

In conclusion

Hope you enjoy. And as always, please let us know if you have questions, comments or any other feedback.

Learn more, or jump right into it.
